The Borekci Group is a family owned corporation with approximately 200 employees headquartered in Ankara, Turkey. The company is currently composed of 5 business units operating in multiple global environments. These include Real Estate, Construction, Tourism, Food & Beverage (F&B) and Trade. The Borekci Group was started in 1976 with the addition of a construction arm to its traditional real estate business. The objective of this expansion was to create added value for its 50 year old real estate holdings to improve the Company's competitive position in the growing Turkey real estate market.
In 1997, the Borekci Group again expanded and diversified its operations by adding additional new business endeavors in a number of service sectors. At that time the Food & Beverage (F&B) business unit was formed with the franchise of Mezzaluna, an Italian
American restaurant chain originating out of New York City, which has today expanded to 8 locations in Turkey. In 2001, a trade unit was formed through the use of global distributorship and representation agreements which operate in multiple business sectors including electronics, steel, natural stone and other construction related materials. As a result of the 1997 strategic decision to expand and diversify, a 4 star hotel project was initiated in the heart of the Turkish capital of Ankara. This project was completed in 2003 and marked the beginning of the tourism arm of the Borekci Group.
All business units of the Borekci Group continue to expand and grow while the management adopts new flexible strategies according to the changing demands of the global market sectors in which they operate.
